RACE 1
WIN – Wrap up the fifth week of racing with a state-bred dominated, 10-race program. MUTAKAWAY was never a factor while finishing third after breaking from the rail most recently. If she is able to replicate her effort three starts back, she will be very tough in search of her first win this year.
PLACE – WHAT’S YOUR POINT won here on July 29, and now runs first off the claim for Anthony Dutrow. Certainly figures in the mix.
SHOW – IN COMMAND looked good winning earlier at this meet despite serious traffic trouble, yet it came on a muddy strip over which she is now 2-for-2.

RACE 2
WIN – Rick Schosberg is having a solid meet, and HAMMOCK may keep things rolling. No match behind Premium Wine back in April and laid up since, he worked a wicked half-mile on Aug. 13 in advance of this and gets Prado.
PLACE – DEB’S ROOF was a distant second to Posted in his latest, although that rival will be headed to stakes company for his next engagement.
SHOW – SARATOGA KAZ was run down late by Any Which Way in late July, and now gets the services of Coa as Beckner rode the debut voyage.

RACE 3
WIN — Cross a line through the Delaware Handicap, and ICE COOL KITTY stands out in here. Figures to get a perfect trip tucked in behind the early speed.
PLACE — MAMA THERESA was disappointing in her latest when she was unable to maintain her position into the first turn. If Kent is able to get involved earlier today, she could rebound with an improved showing.
SHOW — LAUREN’S TIZZY rolled home in the Fleet Indian, but must pick up five pounds off that effort. Has proven unable to string together wins throughout her career.

RACE 4
WIN — Dutrow and Prado look for back-to-back overnight stakes scores with EXPECT THE END in this spot. A very good second between the highly-regarded Pletcher filly New York City Girl and Dubit last out in the Colleen, but faces state-breds today.
PLACE — MYAKKA ran away and hid from her competition when breaking her maiden last out, which was also her first start with Lasix. The main threat to the top choice.
SHOW — Interesting that Dutrow also enters JOVANNA, who will be making her career debut here.

RACE 5
WIN — JET SETTING sold for $425K here last summer, a hefty price for a NY-bred. Works have been nothing spectacular, and Prado rarely rides for this outfit, which adds to the intrigue.
PLACE — Opposite end of the starting gate is CITY OF LIGHTS, who may need to flash some early gas to gain position by the far turn. Working very well at Aqueduct, and like the fact they got a breeze into her locally.
SHOW — LIKE A ROSE is a daughter of Hook and Ladder, who has proven successful with first-out winners. Contessa has drilled her five times this month.

RACE 6
WIN — SORT OF TRICKY was a visually impressive winner here at first asking, leaving next-out winner Lady Rizzi in her wake. Certainly concedes experience to these, but appears very talented.
PLACE — RIZZI’S TWIST ran a career-best speed figure in her latest when second to Seventeen Love, and now adds blinkers for Levine, who has been awfully quiet at this meet.
SHOW — HUXLEY HEROINE ships in from Finger Lakes for Chris Englehart, who won a race here on Friday. Seems to be improving with each start, and should get a good stalking trip from the outside.

RACE 7
WIN — MESSAGE OF A MYTH is just 1-for-17 lifetime, although only four of those starts have come on turf. Has finished second in each of her last two in Jersey, although she dueled the heavy favorite into defeat most recently before getting nailed late.
PLACE — ROYAL SPAULDING has finished second in each of her last two attempts at this level, and will likely be favored in here.
SHOW — SKIP THE GLITTER takes to the grass for the first time for Lake, who wins at a 30 percent clip when giving a leg up to Coa. If run on Main Track: 1. Message of a Myth; 2. Skip the Glitter; 3. Osceola County.

RACE 8
WIN — Best race on the card. HEAT OF THE NIGHT has made just a pair of stateside starts, yet sharply to defeat a good group at Gulfstream back in January. Been training well at Churchill Downs for this.
PLACE — CLASSIC CAMPAIGN finished within one length of Bernard Baruch winner Shakis back in may at Belmont, and have to think a similar effort would be enough here.
SHOW — KARELIAN was scratched from the Baruch, although this spot has come up far from soft. If run on Main Track: 1. Evening Attire; 2. Sleek John; 3. Classic Campaign.

RACE 9
WIN — CUABA received the perfect setup to win here on Aug. 1, and can envision a carbon-copy of that race here. Added sixteenth evens plays to her advantage.
PLACE — CHEROKEE JEWEL scratched from Sunday’s Grade 1 Ballerina, where she would have been overmatched. Ran well in a pair of starts here last summer.
SHOW — SUGAR SWIRL may be the quickest of these early, and was dead-game in fending off Veneti to take the Alyssum when last seen. Just may run them off their feet.

RACE 10
WIN — BOLD HAWK was a good-looking winner last out downstate while still running a bit greenly through the lane. Toner has run a very limited number of starters at this meet, and this could provide his first trip to the Spa winner’s circle.
PLACE — Needs a scratch to drawn in off the AE list, but SPURRED rallied strongly to win at a flat mile here 16 days ago, and this distance will not be a problem. First try versus open company.
SHOW — YOU’RE THE MON has encountered several interruptions of late, but finished full of run for third against a very good group this past winter at Gulfstream Park. LEAGUE OF NATIONS also deserves a look having won at this distance here last summer. If run on Main Track: 1. Perrycarditus; 2. League of Nations; 3. Bold Hawk.
