Any Given Saturday getting good at right time

All year long, we have been treated to brilliant performances from the 3-year-old division. Street Sense, Curlin, Rags to Riches. Hard Spun was impressive in the King’s Bishop. Even Nobiz Like Shobiz has enjoyed success on turf.

Yet you can now add Any Given Saturday to this mix as a major player in the Classic Division (more…)

Belmont Park Saturday recap

Looking back at Saturday’s card at Belmont Park, here are a few comments:

In Race 2, COAL PLAY was rumored to be a good thing during the Saratoga meet, and was certainly bet like one to 2-1 from an 8-1 morning line price. He wasn’t away particularly well, managed to find traffic into the far turn, and was never a factor in the lane. Perhaps more can be expected next time, but this was nonetheless disappointing.

So after crashing on Labor Day night, my system is starting to return to normal following six weeks of non-stop, frantic action.
