Memorial Day is one of — if not THE — best holiday day of racing throughout the year (I also enjoy Thanksgiving Day, although the quality doesn’t match). Great cards at Belmont, Churchill and Hollywood Park – and I will get to take them all in from Las Vegas.

My west coast road trip will include stops at Hollywood Park and Los Alamitos on Sunday, and then a sports book on the Vegas strip on Monday in time for the Met Mile — taking into account the 3 hour time change.

The NY-bred Commentator headlines the co-feature race of the Belmont Park Spring Meet (although the Belmont takes certainly takes top billing this year). Isn’t it great that this Tracy Farmer-owned, Nick Zito-trained runner is still racing!
