Horse2Watch: Pegasian

Pegasian made just his second career start at Belmont Park on June 22, a maiden special weight contest going 1 1/16 on turf.

After finishing a non-descript 10th and last in his debut, the Phil Serpe runner showed better early speed, and seemed poised — and willing — to split horses at the head of the lane when just in behind leaders Unity and Burnished Copper.

Unity then veered in, bumped the rail, and then veered out, directly in the path of Pegasian. Pegasian was eventually moved up a spot to fourth via DQ, and should be strongly considered when he next appears — perhaps at the Spa.
