RACE 1
WIN – Thought about trying to beat the favorite in here, but DRIVEN BY SUCCESS simply looks best, and even figures to get loose on an uncontested lead. The rest shouldn’t be able to touch him.
PLACE – BAZZOOM rallied for second behind an odds-on favorite last out, and the minor cut back in distance should sharpen his late kick.
SHOW – BORROWING LIMIT exits a race from which second-place finisher Rollers has come back to win. Figures to be closing for a share.

RACE 2
WIN — NOBLE ACTION has trained locally all season in advance of this for Rice. Recent half-mile works have become increasingly quicker.
PLACE – FIVE STAR CHOWDAIR, who was second-best to a good-looking Pletcher firster earlier this meet. Nicely drawn outside, Levine runners typically improve off their debut.
PLACE – SOAVE tried and tried, but couldn’t reel in Hookin the Goods in her debut. We have seen several Bush runners regress off promising debuts, but this girl has had some time.

RACE 3
WIN – REGAL RANSOM is the tip heard round the world. From all indications, he has been sensational in the mornings, but must make his anticipated debut from the rail.
PLACE – BRAVE VICTORY raced extremely well in his debut here Opening Day behind the promising Cognito, and was flattered when third-place finisher Gone Astray came back to win on Travers Day.
SHOW – SUCCESSFUL MISSION pressed Munnings early, but was no match for that expensive Pletcher trainee late. Training well, but it is impossible to get enthused about anything Mott is saddling right now.

RACE 4
WIN – Dutrow won a minor stake on this day last year with a former maiden claimer, and looks to strike again with GOODDAY, who won as much the best last out at Del Mar. Blistering work over this course five days ago will spark interest.
PLACE – STUNNING ELECTRA scored a handy victory earlier in the meet, showing nice improvement from her debut. Certainly looms a player.
SHOW – In a race with good early speed, AKILINA could sit the trip and make a nice late run. Came out on the right end of a stretch battle in her last, and should appreciate the additional sixteenth.

RACE 5
WIN – JORDAN’S SONG is a daughter of Unbridled’s Song making her debut for Al Stall, who wins his fair share of first-out attempts. Logged a bullet work from the gate in preparation. Interesting Coa rides instead of a Kentucky-based jock.
PLACE – Pletcher is always dangerous in these juvenile turf contests, and sends out the pairing of LOVAMOR and MISS SEDUCTION. While Pletcher wins with 17% of his debut runners, that percentage drops to 6% when in a maiden claimer.
SHOW – MY VIOLIN didn’t offer much in her only prior start, although she is the only one in the field with experience going two turns on grass, and now gets Dominguez.

RACE 6
WIN – Quality not the best, but this evenly-matched group should be jammed up through the lane. HIGH DRAW closed like she jumped in at the quarter pole for second ahead of many of these on Aug. 4 despite a bobble at the break.
PLACE –EMPRESS INDY took the worst of the draw last out, but still made good late run for second. Wheels right back with blinkers on.
SHOW – LIGHTINTHEFOREST was allowed to dictate a slow pace at this level last out, but couldn’t fend off the late challenges. That was her best effort to date, and any further improvement will keep her around for a piece. If run on Main Track: 1. Bourbon Maid; 2. Empress Indy; 3. High Draw.

RACE 7
WIN – UNBRIDLE’S DREAM was bet with both fists for his debut, but faded after showing good early speed. His second start was washed off the turf, and he again wilted. Shows a solid 7-furlong work on turf, and could surprise getting to the proper surface.
PLACE – HYPE and SWINGING BERNIE debut on grass for Pletcher. See prior race comments, although these aren’t in for a tag.
SHOW – SEATTLE BREW exits the same race as Lime Rickey and Pioneerof the Nile, and while all three finished closely, this guy was widest every step of the way. If run on Main Track: 1. Hype; 2. Seattle Brew; 3. Unbridle’s Dream.

RACE 8
WIN – OSCEOLA PRINCE weakened to last when placed on turf in his latest, but Ward has been having a great meet, and brings in Pascacio Lopez to ride. Lopez has won with 7 of the last 13 Ward runners he has piloted. That’s enough reason at 12-1.
PLACE – IZ closed powerfully to graduate two starts back at Lone Star Park. Granted, he was likely beating horses akin to cattle, but does get Garcia, who is riding exceptionally well right now. Should Lopez be replaced on the top choice, flip these two.
SHOW – MONSOONED MALABAR is the type that plods along, and will try to grind down the weakened front runners late. Wouldn’t dismiss in any multi-race tickets.

RACE 9
WIN – ICE COOL KITTY was tag-teamed in the Fleet Indian as she was immediately tackled by Talking Treasure after disposing of Precise Lady. Won this race last year, and may be better around two turns.
PLACE – TALKING TREASURE looked sharp winning over the top choice last out, although that 7-furlong distance is her best. Mate NEW YORK CITI has yet to prove her metal against this quality.
SHOW – BORROWING BASE lumbered home in the center of the course in a race where the leaders into the lane staggered home. Has run well in all three Saratoga starts.

RACE 10
WIN – OH SO IRISH looked to have a ton of horse but nowhere to run last out at Monmouth, and then was empty once clear. Shows some nice works at Belmont since, and should be a nice price.
PLACE – ULTIMATE EVENT comes back fresh in first start for Chad Brown.
SHOW — ALYSSA GIVONNA stretches back out after a few close tries sprinting. KULKA sat a dream trip, but just wasn’t good enough versus maiden special weight conditions last out. If run on Main Track: 1. Oh So Irish; 2. Dove Nest; 3. Qualquin.

BEST BET
Goodday (Race 4)
